PARTICIPANT INFORMATION AND SUBMISSION

Speak Now, Speak Life is open to all ages. Each participant is to submit one original piece to make a positive impact for organ donation by Friday, October 20th Monday, October 23rd | Noon by filling out the form below. Up to 15 participants will be chosen to perform and will be eligible for first through fifth place cash prizes by a panel of five judges. 1ST PLACE $1000 - 2ND PLACE $500 - 3RD PLACE $250 - 4TH PLACE $100 - 5TH PLACE $50
General Criteria
·The participant list will be capped at 15
· ALL poets MUST be physically present NO later than 8pm at 885 N. Orange Ave on Oct. 25th in order to participate
· Submission of poetry readings does not equate to being accepted in the competition.
· Poets will be notified if they have been selected based on the strength of
· Poets must perform original content
· No props or music may accompany any poems - Reading off of a phone, notebook, etc is permissible as long as it is not referenced in the poem. i.e "A shirt with an organ on it is considered a prop"
· There will be two rounds of poetry
· The order of the first round of performance will be determined by random number selection
· Poets must prepare at least one "organ donation" themed poem 90 seconds -3 minutes in length to perform in the first round
· Poets must submit the "organ donation" themed poem through online portal by Friday, Oct. 20th to be considered for participation
· The top 5 scores from the first round will advance to the 2nd and final round.
· For the 2nd and final round, Poets may perform an original poem of their choosing
· Point deductions will apply to any performances beyond 3 minutes and 10 seconds
· The highest and lowest scores among the judges will not count. The three middle scores will be added together to determine each poet's score for each round.
· In the event of a tie, dropped scores will be reintroduced.
·The highest combined scores of the first and second round (cumulative scoring) will win top prize of $1000 - 2nd place $500 - 3rd place $250 - 4th place - $100 - 5th place $50 - The youngest finalist will win an additional $100.
