Family Care

Organ and tissue donation is made possible first and foremost through the generosity of donors and their families who choose to leave a legacy of caring for others. At OurLegacy, providing ongoing support to families is more than a responsibility—it is a calling.

After the donation process is completed, our Family Services team contacts the donor’s loved ones to offer assistance, provide grief resources and referrals, and answer any questions that may arise about the donation process. We also send a letter confirming the organs and tissues that were recovered and how they are helping people in need. In the succeeding months, OurLegacy hosts remembrance ceremonies where donors are remembered for the difference they made in life and in their passing.

Many of the donor families we serve find meaning in volunteering for OurLegacy, sharing their stories with our Central Florida community through presentations, the media, and educational materials.
