Organ, eye and tissue donors are HEROES! Central Florida’s Organ Procurement Organization, OurLegacy, is looking for caring community members to join us in knitting hope blankets for grieving families.
These keepsake three-foot by three-foot works of art honor Central Florida Organ Donor Heroes for giving the most precious gift, the Gift of Life through organ and tissue donation. Blankets are then ceremonially presented to grieving families as a precious gift in honor of their Hero.
Knitted and crochet blankets are accepted in any color. Your blanket art will be tagged with love so a family knows their caring community joined them in honoring their Hero. Donations of yarn are warmly welcomed to supply knitting volunteers across Central Florida. Lion Brand Homespun Yarn is preferred, but all donations will be accepted.
Together, we’re caring for families, honoring Organ Donor Heroes and saving lives.

Q: WHAT ARE THE Preferred DIMENSIONS and colors of donated blankets?
A: We have found three-feet by three-feet knitted or crocheted blankets to be the perfect size keepsake for families experiencing donation.
